Hypnotic Suggestion Therapy

Hypnotic Suggestion Therapy (hst)

Word as a psychotherapeutic factor

Psychotherapy as hst is a special therapeutic application of science in an unique artistic style. Because hst denotes the wave theory and also a particle theory of consciousness. Dr. Dhirendranath Ganguly, founder of Pavlov Institute, introduced it in India, Kolkata. He practiced this method for at least forty years for his patients. He was a psychiatrist and also a psychotherapist. It is not usual for a psychiatrist of our community to be a psychotherapist.

Word is psychotherapeutic because it is a second-signal-system conditioned functional connection capable of exciting, inhibiting, and reorganizing first-signal system pathological mosaics via prefrontal cortex dominant formation. Word from authority (therapist) has stronger excitation due to prior conditioning, so easier forms dominant in patient’s cortex. Word like suggestions directly becomes dominant especially when hypnosis is also applied in induction prior to suggestion for cortical inhibition. Here word easily dominates.

Word via second-signal-system (language) forms new logical conditioned functional connections mosaics, inhibit old mosaics. Word is strongest physiological stimulus and according to Pavlov word is a conditioned stimulus, can excite or inhibit any mosaic.

Hypnotic Suggestion Therapy is only available at Pavlov Institute & Hospitals.

This therapy is most effective in the following type of disorders —

  1. Neurosis with weak type of brain—Anxiety, Hysteria
  2. Various Psychosomatic disorders (autonomic neurosis)
  3. Phobias, Addictions, Panic attacks
  4. Post Traumatic Stress Disorders
  5. Various forms of Depression
  6. Obsessive Compulsive Neurosis
  7. Sleep Disturbances

It is especially effective in disorders where symptom itself is a word-created pathological dominant maintained by first-signal-system conditioned functional connections.
